'Recovery Footwear' Brand Bark Selected for TIPS by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

Brand Bark, created by rehabilitation medicine doctors, announced on the 3rd that it has been finally selected for the TIPS program, a technology startup support program hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.


With this selection, Bark will be able to receive up to 700 million KRW in support over the next two years, including 500 million KRW for research and development (R&D) funding, startup commercialization linkage, and 200 million KRW for overseas marketing funds.

'Recovery Footwear' Brand Bark Selected for TIPS by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

Bark, whose flagship product is the ergonomically designed shoe "Recovery Footwear," plans to develop a system equipped with a pain diagnosis artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm that enables diagnosis through treatment. Through this, it aims to provide solutions for patients with foot pain who have limited mobility, establish a system for post-treatment management, and improve damages caused by unverified footwear.


Byun Hee-jun, CEO of Bark, stated, "We will lead the foot pain diagnosis and treatment market through the efficiency of medical diagnosis and treatment, and provide functionality through the differentiation of Bark's ergonomic footwear from existing market products, convenience through diagnostic AI models, and reliability through data acquisition and information provision." He added, "Based on analysis data from foot scanners, we will offer product recommendation functions for treatment, posture correction, and foot pain relief, aiming to become a representative K-Footwear brand of Korea."
