The Venture Investment Roadshow has been led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups since 2022, jointly hosted by the Korea Venture Capital Association and the Small and Medium Business Corporation, to create private investment opportunities for companies participating in the regulatory sandbox, enabling the sandbox to drive regional growth.
Eight promising companies participated in this roadshow, including ▲ 'PlantyFarm' from the 3rd Gyeongbuk Industrial Hemp Special Zone, which provides services for the entire process from vertical farm construction to distribution ▲ 'Radix' from the 3rd Daegu Mobile Collaborative Robot Special Zone, which builds smart factories through upper and lower system linkage ▲ 'OnSoftDime' from the 1st Daegu Smart Wellness Special Zone, offering digital therapeutics and health management services using AI ▲ 'PLG' from the 5th Gyeongbuk Smart Green Logistics, establishing urban smart logistics hubs for last-mile delivery.
During the event, through an investment attraction briefing session, special zone operators introduced their business models and held Q&A sessions with professional investment institutions such as Interval Partners and Wonik Investment Partners.
Prior to the event, a meeting was held with special zone operators to discuss the commercialization achievements of the regulatory sandbox. Participating companies shared their opinions on ways to activate commercialization based on their experiences and suggested ideas to expand investment attraction for the regulatory sandbox.
In particular, various measures to promote commercialization achievements were discussed, including securing sales channels and attracting investments necessary for commercializing results from the regulatory sandbox, as well as linked support projects and government policy delivery related to the sandbox.
Lim Jeong-wook, Director of the Startup Venture Innovation Office at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, “We will continue to support commercialization such as investment IR so that the regulatory sandbox can grow continuously through private investments beyond government support,” and emphasized, “To revitalize private investment within the sandbox, we will promote cooperation among sandboxes and various policy linkages with related organizations.”
