Space, Energy, and Time Saving

Samsung Electronics is launching a new all-in-one washer-dryer, the 'Bespoke AI Combo,' to target the European market. The strategy is to captivate European consumers who are sensitive to space and energy savings with a high-efficiency product.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 3rd that it will showcase the European version of the 'Bespoke AI Combo' at 'IFA 2024,' Europe's largest home appliance exhibition, held in Berlin, Germany, from the 6th to the 10th (local time).

The Bespoke AI Combo launching in Europe has a washing capacity of 18 kg and a drying capacity of 11 kg. This is smaller than the product released in Korea (washing capacity 25 kg, drying capacity 15 kg).

It is an integrated product capable of washing and drying in one go. Compared to installing the washer and dryer separately, it allows for more upper storage space.

Energy efficiency is also high. By applying high-efficiency inverter heat pump drying technology, it received the highest European energy consumption efficiency rating of 'A grade' for both washing and drying operations. It saves 20% more energy compared to the A grade in washing operation.

The 'AI Customized Course' detects the condition of laundry and adjusts washing and drying times accordingly to reduce unnecessary water and energy use. Using the 'AI Saving Mode' in the SmartThings application can further reduce energy consumption by up to 60% during washing and up to 30% during drying.

The 7-inch wide touchscreen 'AI Home' installed in the Bespoke AI Combo enhances user experience intuitively through touch operation.

From AI Home, users can control the status of other appliances connected via SmartThings. In the 3D 'Map View,' which reflects the actual home layout, users can check the status of devices by space, air quality, and energy usage.

Samsung Electronics plans to sequentially launch the new product in the UK, France, Germany, and other countries starting in November.

The Bespoke AI Combo, released domestically in February, sold 1,000 units within three days, 3,000 units within 12 days, and 10,000 units within two months. It accounts for more than 40% of domestic drum washer sales.

Next year, Samsung plans to launch the 'Bespoke AI Washer,' which can save 55% energy compared to the European energy efficiency A grade, and the 'Bespoke AI Dryer,' featuring the same pair design.

Imu-hyung, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances (DA) Division, said, "The Bespoke AI Combo has been well received not only in Korea but also in North America, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Starting with IFA, we will enter the European market and strengthen the formula of 'AI appliances = Samsung.'"
