Dunamu Creates 'Virtual Forest' with Digital Technology... The Power of Healing

Blockchain and fintech specialist Dunamu announced on the 3rd that it will open a pop-up store for 'Second Forest: Digital Healing Garden' in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, in collaboration with the Korea Arboretum and Garden Management Service, a public institution under the Korea Forest Service, until the 7th of next month.

Second Forest: Digital Healing Garden is a virtual forest and healing program created using Dunamu's digital technology. It is a rebranding of the Second Forest campaign, which was selected as an excellent case of government innovation in the public sector of South Korea by the OECD Public Sector Innovation Network (OPSI) in 2023.

As part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiative 'Tree,' Dunamu has been conducting the annual environmental campaign 'Second Forest' since 2022. During the pandemic period when offline activities were restricted due to COVID-19, the campaign operated by planting virtual trees in the metaverse and then planting real trees in wildfire-affected areas. However, with the official end of COVID-19 and the reactivation of face-to-face channels, the program has been significantly revamped.

At the pop-up store, the rebranded Second Forest will be showcased through three main programs: ▲ Discovering your personal healing garden ▲ Discovering your personal healing scent ▲ Consolation concert, offering comfort and relaxation to busy modern people.

Various events and gifts are also prepared. Participants in the Second Forest word puzzle event will receive Bitcoin lottery tickets and souvenirs featuring the Upbit logo on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors who upload photos of their visit to the pop-up store on social media (SNS) with hashtags will also receive gifts on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lee Seok-woo, CEO of Dunamu, said, “The goal of Second Forest is true restoration that connects nature to people and people back to nature,” adding, “We will strive to use Dunamu’s unique technology and resources to gift the healing power of nature to more people.”

After the pop-up exhibition, Second Forest will be relocated and established in hospitals, fire stations, welfare facilities, and other places for workers at risk of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and transportation-vulnerable groups. Institutions and organizations wishing to establish the program can apply through the Korea Arboretum and Garden Management Service website by the 10th of next month.
