Alternative investment specialist asset management company Maston Investment Management announced on the 3rd that it successfully held the ‘Sustainable Management Strategy Symposium’.
The symposium, held on the 2nd at Maston Investment Management’s headquarters conference room located on Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul, featured in-depth presentations and discussions on various themes such as alternative investments, Natural Capital, CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), and GSS (Green, Social, and Sustainability) bonds.
Kim Min-seok, team leader of the Strategic Planning Division at Maston Investment Management, the host of the Sustainable Management Strategy Symposium, opened the lecture with the topic ‘ESG Implementation Trends in the Alternative Investment Asset Management Industry.’ Ha Tae-won, president of HUFSavers, the ESG club at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, which co-hosted the event, presented on ‘University ESG Awareness, Current Status, and Improvement Measures.’
Next, Lee Joo-won, senior researcher at Green Idea Lab and former researcher at the Energy Transition Forum as well as environmental consultant at RPS, a specialized offshore wind consulting firm, took the microphone with the topic ‘ESG Trends Seen Through Natural Capital and Biodiversity.’
The final session was a presentation by Jang Mina, former analyst at Sustainalytics. Drawing on her experience working at the Netherlands headquarters of the global bond rating agency Sustainalytics, she introduced European CSRD and GSS bonds.
Yoon Ja-kyung, vice president of the Strategic Planning Division at Maston Investment Management, said, “The Sustainable Management Strategy Symposium provided an opportunity to comprehensively examine topics that have recently become key issues in both academia and the field. In particular, the increasingly mandatory ESG disclosures must be closely monitored.”
