On the 2nd (local time), the official weekly men's golf world rankings were announced, and he jumped an impressive 92 spots from 421st last week. On the 1st, at the newly established Korean Professional Golf (KPGA) Tour event, the Lexus Masters (total prize money 1 billion KRW) held at A-One CC (par 72, 7,121 yards) in Yangsan, Gyeongnam, he secured points by winning with a 5-stroke lead (18 under par, 270 strokes). His concentration stood out as he shot 7 under par 65 in the final 4th round. This was his first victory after exactly 112 tournaments since debuting on the KPGA Tour in 2015. He received a winner's prize of 200 million KRW.
Following his gold medal at the Paris Olympics, Scottie Scheffler (USA) continued to lead at number 1 after becoming the FedEx Cup champion. Xander Schauffele (USA) is 2nd, Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) is 3rd, and Tour Championship runner-up Collin Morikawa (USA) rose two spots to 4th. In Korea, Im Sung-jae is ranked 20th, Kim Joo-hyung 23rd, An Byeong-hun 34th, and Kim Si-woo is positioned at 49th.
