Comprehensive Chuseok Measures from the 13th to 19th
906 Staff Members to Minimize Resident Inconvenience and Respond to Emergencies through Situation Room and On-Site Duty
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will implement a comprehensive Chuseok holiday plan for seven days from the 13th to the 19th to ensure that residents can spend a safe and comfortable holiday.
The district has prepared 26 projects in four areas: ▲ securing residents' safety ▲ strengthening traffic safety ▲ supporting marginalized neighbors ▲ resolving daily inconveniences. During the comprehensive plan period, 906 staff members will maintain a 24-hour work system to prepare for emergencies and minimize residents' inconveniences.
First, to respond quickly to various disasters or safety accidents that may occur during the holiday period, a 24-hour disaster safety situation room will be operated. In anticipation of higher-than-average rainfall, an emergency work system for flood and water damage will be maintained, and designated medical institutions and pharmacies on duty will also be operated. Thorough measures will be taken, including livestock product safety management and safety inspections of roads and construction sites.
Traffic safety will also be strengthened to help residents enjoy a comfortable holiday. The last bus and subway times will be extended, and additional route buses will operate via Mangwoo History and Culture Park for visitors paying respects at ancestral graves.
Additionally, a parking complaint duty office will be operated to promptly handle illegal parking complaints, and patrols around multi-use facilities will be strengthened to minimize residents' inconveniences.
Furthermore, efforts will be made to ensure a warm holiday without leaving any neighbors behind. Chuseok consolation goods will be delivered to about 15,600 basic livelihood security households, 10 marginalized group living facilities, and organizations. Using Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the well-being of elderly living alone will be carefully checked, and substitute meals will be provided to low-income children at risk of malnutrition. Public-private cooperation will help deliver customized donated goods to vulnerable groups in the area by continuously operating donation sharing boxes at the Myeonmokbon-dong, Sangbong 2-dong, and Muk 1·2-dong community centers.
To minimize daily inconveniences caused by garbage, a cleaning task force of 551 members will handle various cleaning complaints. Garbage disposal days will be announced in advance, and intensive cleaning will be conducted on the 12th and 13th before the holiday starts. Garbage will not be collected throughout the district on the 16th and 17th, including Chuseok day, and on the 19th and 20th after the holiday, all manpower and equipment will be mobilized for bulk waste collection.
Measures for the local economy will also be implemented. Prices of holiday essential goods will be closely monitored to stabilize prices. Various events to revitalize local commerce and traditional markets, such as discount sales of ritual items, Onnuri gift certificate giveaways, and prize events, will be prepared in traditional markets and shopping districts within the area.
In addition, 50 facilities including sports centers, libraries, and welfare facilities will remain open during the holiday so residents can enjoy cultural activities. The operating status of the institutions you wish to visit can be checked on the Jungnang-gu Office website.
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “We will do our best to resolve daily inconveniences by implementing thorough measures with our staff so that residents can have a safe and comfortable Chuseok holiday,” and added, “I hope all residents have a safe and warm holiday.”
