Alligator Captured in Mississippi, USA
Weighs 363 kg... At Least 60 Years Old
A giant crocodile weighing 363 kg was caught in the United States, drawing local attention.
According to WAPT News, on the 30th of last month (local time), Megan Sager, a resident of Mississippi, announced on her Facebook that she caught a massive crocodile in the Yazoo River measuring 4.2 meters in length, 166 cm in girth, and weighing nearly 363 kg. The crocodile is estimated to be at least 60 years old.
At the time, six hunters went hunting together at the Yazoo River around noon. The weather was unfavorable, and due to a storm that lasted about three hours, the hunters were soaked from the rain.
Then, as the rain began to ease in the afternoon, a giant crocodile surfaced on the water. Megan said, "The size and volume of the crocodile's head were truly unreal," adding, "I knew the crocodile was big, but I didn't expect it to be this large." She explained that to catch the crocodile, she "sat through the monsoon rain for over three hours" and "followed the crocodile for about an hour."
Megan's father, Marty Sager, who was present at the scene, recalled, "After being dragged several miles along the river, we finally caught it," and said, "It was like tying a car to a fishing line, throwing it into the sea, and trying to reel it in."
The official weight of this crocodile is reported to be about 802 pounds (approximately 363 kg), with a length of 426 cm. Although it falls short of the record for the longest crocodile caught in Mississippi last year, which measured 4.33 meters, it may set new records in terms of girth and weight.
Megan shared her thoughts on catching the giant crocodile on her Facebook. She said, "We sat through the monsoon rain for over three hours and survived the jaws of death several times," adding, "We brought the crocodile home and will have it officially measured later. We achieved a feat nothing short of a miracle."
