Table tennis national team players who achieved good results at the 2024 Paris Olympics received a total reward of 150 million KRW.
The Korea Table Tennis Association held a reward ceremony before the regular board meeting held on the 2nd at the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
Shin Yubin, who won one bronze medal each in the women's team event and mixed doubles, received 30 million KRW, and a total of 150 million KRW in rewards was given to the national team players.
The reward money was prepared according to the Olympic donations from the Table Tennis Association sponsors such as Shinhan Financial Group and Korean Air, as well as the association's own reward regulations.
The Table Tennis Association also provided encouragement money to the coaching staff and medical trainers.
At the Paris Olympics, the national team succeeded in winning a medal for the first time in 12 years since the silver medal in the men's team event at the 2012 London Olympics, with the mixed doubles bronze medal won by the pair of Lim Jonghoon (Korea Exchange) and Shin Yubin (Korean Air).
Furthermore, the women's team, consisting of Shin Yubin, Jeon Jihee (Mirae Asset Securities), and Lee Eunhye (Korean Air), also won a bronze medal.
Oh Gwangheon, head coach of the women's national team, said, "I think the combined support from Chairman Yoo Seungmin, the association executives, and countless others, along with the public's support, made it possible to achieve results at this Olympics," and pledged, "I will continue to be a dedicated worker who does my best for Korean table tennis no matter what position I am in."
Yoo Seungmin, chairman of the Korea Table Tennis Association, said, "I am proud of the national team that gave the public an unforgettable gift with their great performance," and added, "We will continue to support the national team in every way so that they can maintain their success."
