A Chinese influencer who had hundreds of fans undergo plastic surgery to look like her face is drawing attention.
On the 2nd (Korean time), Hong Kong media South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported, "A famous Chinese influencer who runs a private plastic surgery clinic led more than 500 fans to have surgery at her clinic."
According to the report, Chinese influencer Wang Jing has gained great popularity by posting content related to plastic surgery, such as surgery reviews, on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok. She has 940,000 followers on Douyin alone. Wang Jing, who revealed that she spent 1 million yuan (about 188 million KRW) on plastic surgery, boasts stunning beauty that has been highly praised in the local plastic surgery industry as a perfect face.
Wang Jing, who became famous for her successful plastic surgery cases, recently operates a private plastic surgery clinic where she consults customers who want to look like her, using her face as a model. The surgeries are performed by hired doctors.
It is known that at least 500 people have visited her clinic and undergone plastic surgery to look similar to Wang Jing. A woman who identified herself as a fan of Wang Jing said through Douyin, "I spent more than 60,000 yuan (11 million KRW) to have plastic surgery to look like Wang Jing," adding, "I have also entered Wang Jing's kingdom and feel confident after investing in plastic surgery."
Meanwhile, concerns about this kind of 'imitative plastic surgery' have also been raised. One netizen pointed out, "Wang Jing is trying to build her own kingdom where everyone has the same face as her." Another netizen reacted, "Hundreds of people with the same face? It's scary and creepy."
