President Ahn Byungyun Inaugurated at Gyeongbuk Provincial University..."Fully Preparing for Launch of National Gyeongguk University"

Gyeongbuk Provincial University announced on the 2nd that Ahn Byungyun has been inaugurated as the 9th president of the university.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by about 200 people, including professors, staff, and students, and proceeded in the following order: opening declaration, introduction of guests, national ceremony, introduction of career, inaugural address, handing over of the university flag, presentation of wreaths, and commemorative photo session.

In his inaugural address, President Ahn Byungyun said, "I deeply thank everyone who has graced this occasion despite their busy schedules," adding, "It is an infinite honor to stand here as the president of Gyeongbuk Provincial University, my hometown university."

President Ahn continued, "Currently, our university is at an important juncture, preparing for a new start as National Kyungguk University," and added, "I will do my utmost for the successful launch of National Kyungguk University through continuous communication with all university members."

Regarding the direction for Gyeongbuk Provincial University, President Ahn outlined key tasks such as protective measures for university members during the integration process, establishing governance with public institutions in Gyeongsangbuk-do, creating a lifelong education-centered university in collaboration with the local community, and building a university where all members are happy.

Meanwhile, President Ahn Byungyun is a native of Yecheon, Gyeongbuk. He graduated from the Department of Public Administration at Yonsei University, earned a master's degree in public administration from the University of Colorado in the United States, and a Ph.D. in public administration from Yonsei University. He began his public service career by passing the 39th Higher Civil Service Examination and has served as Regional Cooperation Officer of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Director of Local Tax Policy Division at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Director of Local Administration Division at the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, Director of Planning and Coordination Office of Gyeongsangbuk-do, Spokesperson of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Senior Administrative Officer at the Office of National Public Relations in the Presidential Secretariat, and Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Busan Metropolitan City.
