Utilizing MapleStory IP Resources and Content
Learn Coding Principles
Nexon announced on the 2nd that it has officially launched ‘HelloMaple,’ a free block coding platform designed to create a coding education environment.
HelloMaple is a block coding platform that helps students easily and enjoyably learn basic coding principles by utilizing content from the MapleStory IP (intellectual property). Last year, Nexon introduced ‘MSW EDU (MapleStory World Education)’ as a beta version of HelloMaple, and has now added a learning management system (LMS) feature and revamped the block coding creation screen design.
HelloMaple effectively increases accessibility and interest in coding education by utilizing various game environment elements. Users can customize avatars reflecting their own personality and preferences using free resources such as clothes, hair, and faces, and can publish worlds (content) they have created.
In collaboration with active teachers, it also provides a practical learning tool feature, the learning management system (LMS), which reflects the needs of educational sites. When registering as a teacher member, users can create and manage classes, generate student accounts, invite general accounts to classes, assign tasks, and conduct evaluations.
In addition to the currently available PC client version, Nexon is conducting research and development for the release of a block coding web version, aiming to further enhance platform accessibility so that users can easily access it anytime and anywhere.
Shin Min-seok, Nexon’s general director, said, "As the platform is created using the MapleStory IP, we expect to increase user immersion through diverse content," and added, "We will continue to actively support content and feature updates and platform advancement so that anyone can start coding education as easily and enjoyably as playing a game."
