The 'Anseong Cultural Market' is a cultural market based on the historical significance of the three major markets of the Joseon Dynasty, where Anseong's cultural merchants and artisans enjoy crafts, craft experiences, and performances. It is a representative project of Anseong City's 'Korea Cultural City' initiative.
At this year's Jeongseon Ararian Night Bammasil Market, the Anseong Cultural Market collaborated with the existing Maenggeuljang, which is operated by residents in Jeongseon. Jeongseon Maenggeuljang is a craft market where local residents gather and move locations along Jeongseon Train Station like peddlers for each event.
More than 40 seller teams participated in the event, with about 15 teams from the Anseong Matchum Cultural Merchants Association participating in sales of local crafts. Participants also had time to share market operation methods and cases with the Jeongseon Maenggeuljang management team.
An official from Anseong City said, "We will continue to build a cooperative system between metropolitan areas and strive to create a continuous cultural exchange platform linked to Anseong City's Korea Cultural City project."
