The employed and special education tracks will select 144 and 38 students respectively. The Student Record Excellence track will admit 473 students, and the Essay track will recruit 253 students.

[2025 Early Admission Special] Soongsil University Establishes Department of Liberal Studies... Eases Minimum CSAT Requirements

The SSU Future Talent track selects three times the number of candidates in the first stage based on 100% comprehensive document screening, and in the second stage, combines 50% of the first stage score with 50% interview score for final selection. There is no minimum CSAT score requirement. The Student Record Excellence track is only open to those recommended by their school principal, and recommendations are submitted online by the applicant’s high school after early application. There is no limit on the number of recommendations per school. The selection is based 100% on student record grades, reflecting 80% common and general elective subjects and 20% career elective subjects respectively.

Notably, from this year, the Student Record Excellence track has established a Department of Liberal Arts, selecting 20 students from the humanities field and 27 from the natural sciences field. Although applicants are separated into humanities and natural sciences groups according to their preferences, after admission, students can choose majors from all departments without restrictions on field or number. However, majors in arts and physical education, departments dedicated to employed students, and contract departments (such as the Department of Information Security) are excluded from the major selection scope.

The Essay Excellence track reflects 80% essay scores and 20% student record grades. This is a change from last year’s 60% essay and 40% student record, increasing the importance of the essay exam. The minimum CSAT score requirement for humanities and business fields in both the Student Record Excellence and Essay Excellence tracks has been relaxed from “within grade 4 in the sum of two subjects” to “within grade 5 in the sum of two subjects.”

In the Arts Excellence track (Physical Education) with 3 spots, outstanding talents in billiards will be selected based on 60% achievements, 20% interview, and 20% student record. The Arts Excellence track (Acting), selecting 16 students, will select four times the number of candidates in the first stage based on 60% practical skills and 40% student record grades without reflecting achievements, and in the second stage, select final candidates based on 80% practical skills and 20% student record grades. The Arts Excellence track (Directing), with 22 spots, follows the same selection method as the Acting track, except that three times the number of candidates are selected in the first stage.
