Administrative Procedures to Be Completed by Year-End, Bus Operations to Begin in First Half of Next Year
Daejeon Daedeok-gu announced on the 3rd that it will install an Incheon Airport bus stop in the Sintanjin area to improve convenience for residents in the northern region traveling to the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas.
The bus route will operate as follows: the upward route will run from Daejeon Complex Terminal to the bus stop for national merit recipients in front of Sintanjin Station at Daejeon Veterans Hospital, then Namcheongju IC, and finally Incheon Airport. The downward route will travel from Incheon Airport to Namcheongju IC, Sintanjin Station, and Daejeon Complex Terminal. The total travel time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The district plans to complete all administrative procedures related to the installation of the bus stop for national merit recipients in front of Sintanjin Station by the end of this year and sign a business agreement with the relevant transportation company, aiming to launch the Incheon Airport bus service in the first half of next year.
Additionally, the district will promote the new Incheon Airport bus route through campaigns such as encouraging the use of local transportation companies to help the service become established as quickly as possible.
Choi Chungkyu, head of Daedeok-gu Office, said, "Until now, residents of Sintanjin and northern Daejeon have faced significant inconvenience due to the lack of a nearby bus terminal. Through the establishment of this new bus stop, we aim to reduce inconvenience for local residents and use this as a foundation to boost the local economy by connecting with tourism infrastructure such as Daecheongho and Gyejoksan."
