Discussion on AI Adoption with Universities Pre-Designated Following Hallym University
Eastsoft, a specialized company in artificial intelligence (AI) services, announced on the 2nd that it will provide a standardized AI education solution platform to Glocal Universities designated by Naver Cloud and the Ministry of Education.
Glocal Universities are those selected under the Ministry of Education's policy project "Glocal University 30," aimed at supporting the future educational transformation of universities. These universities will receive a total of 100 billion KRW over five years to develop world-class competitiveness in specialized fields linked to regional industries and society.
Going forward, Eastsoft and Naver Cloud plan to actively contribute through this policy project to help universities adopt AI technology and secure global competitiveness. Last year, a total of 10 universities, including Hallym University, were selected as Glocal Universities. This year, another 10 universities such as Kyungpook National University and Handong University were selected at the same scale.
The collaboration between the two companies began in earnest by presenting an AI education platform to Hallym University, the first Glocal University. At the Glocal University Vision Declaration Ceremony held at Hallym University in May, they successfully showcased the proof of concept (PoC) demo, "Hallym AI Education Solution," marking the start of tangible achievements.
The AI education solution platform being developed by the two companies helps maximize the productivity of instructors and the learning efficiency of students. It offers an AI tutor supporting overall university life, an ‘AI Codi’ providing one-on-one guidance for students’ learning processes, and an AI teaching assistant that helps prepare lectures and supports academic activities. The platform will primarily utilize Naver Cloud’s infrastructure and integrate various AI technologies such as the ultra-large-scale AI HyperCLOVA X and CLOVA Speech.
Jung Sang-won, CEO of Eastsoft, stated, "As a leading AI company, we aim to contribute to building a foundation for universities to attract and nurture better talent," adding, "We will continue to present AI technologies that lead universities to secure global competitiveness."
