GS Shop Transitions to AI Lifestyle Commerce... Complete App Overhaul

AI Configures Apps... Recommends Over 80% of Products
New Slogan 'Style your daily life'

TV home shopping GS Shop has extensively revamped its application to transition into an 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lifestyle Commerce.'


GS Shop announced on the 2nd that it has carried out a large-scale app overhaul to optimize customer shopping experiences based on AI and integrate TV and mobile platforms. A company representative explained, "GS Shop pioneered the video shopping era by launching the first TV home shopping service in Korea in 1995 and led the mobile shift by releasing the industry's first dedicated app in 2010. Through this revamp, we have established the third milestone called the AI commerce shift."

The revamped app features AI-optimized personalized app configuration based on customer behavior. It analyzes various behavioral data such as products for which customers have viewed detailed descriptions for a long time, items added to the shopping cart or purchased, favorite stores (sections), frequently used benefits, and most entered search terms, displaying 50% of the entire app in a personalized manner.


AI-created short-form videos and advertising copy are used in the top banner of the app’s main screen, and AI selects over 80% of the products displayed on the main screen while also managing benefits. When additional benefits such as price discounts, card discounts, coupons, or prize events are added to products that customers have shown interest in through searches, wish lists, or shopping carts, AI notifies the customers accordingly.


Another feature is the removal of distinctions among TV home shopping, data home shopping, and live commerce. Previously, unique channel names such as 'Live' (home shopping), 'My Shop' (data), and 'Shoppy Live' (live commerce) were used, but these have now been unified under the single name 'Live.'


Along with the full app revamp, GS Shop also unveiled a new slogan, "Style your daily life." GS Shop explained that this reflects a promise to carefully select products based on AI to help customers enjoy a healthy and stylish daily life. Kim Yohan, head of GS Retail’s Home Shopping DX division, said, "We will provide a shopping experience optimized for each customer's lifestyle based on industry-leading AI capabilities."
