Festival Colored by 10 Billion Flowers... Opening on October 5
Jangseong-gun has embarked on expanding the scope of the 'Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival,' which has established itself as a representative national festival, to become an international festival.
On the 29th of last month, Jangseong-gun signed a business agreement with the Korea Cultural Exchange Project Group at the county office situation room.
This agreement was prepared with the aim of revitalizing the local economy through attracting foreign tourists and promoting cultural exchange. According to the agreement, the Korea Cultural Exchange Project Group will present a plaza performance featuring 24 Chinese performing arts groups with about 500 participants at this year's Jangseong Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival, and will also participate in various festival programs.
County Governor Kim Han-jong said, "This business agreement will be the first step in introducing the Jangseong Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival to foreign stages," adding, "We will systematically prepare for the globalization of the festival, including developing tourism products for foreigners."
This year's Jangseong Hwangryonggang Autumn Flower Festival will be held from October 5 to 13, set against the bright Hwangryonggang adorned with one billion autumn flowers. In addition to the agreement with the Korea Cultural Exchange Project Group, Jangseong-gun plans to explore the potential for expanding the autumn flower festival by operating a 'Global Zone' where visitors can experience overseas performances and food.
