Olympic Gold Medalist Ban Hyojin Appointed as Ambassador for Dong-gu, Daegu... "Will Promote the Beauty of My Hometown"

Paris Olympic gold medalist Ban Hyojin has been appointed as an honorary ambassador for Dong-gu, Daegu.


The Dong-gu District Office in Daegu (headed by Yoon Seokjun) held an appointment ceremony at the district office on the 31st of last month, officially designating Ban as the honorary ambassador for Dong-gu.

Ban Hyojin won the gold medal in the women's 10m air rifle event at the 2024 Paris Olympics held in July. Ban was born in Bangchon-dong, Dong-gu, Daegu, and graduated from Yongho Elementary School in Dong-gu.


As the new honorary ambassador of Dong-gu, Daegu, Ban will play a key role in promoting the beauty of the district to a wider audience.


Meanwhile, the Daegu Dong-gu Education Foundation awarded Ban a scholarship of 5 million won as a special scholarship recipient during the appointment ceremony held on the same day.


Yoon Seokjun, head of Dong-gu District Office, stated, "We are proud to appoint Ban, who has reached the top of the world, as our honorary ambassador. We will continue to support and encourage Ban's future together with the residents of Dong-gu, and Dong-gu will spare no effort or interest in providing support."
