President Yoon Suk-yeol on the 31st expressed, "I send my warm applause to the 83 South Korean athletes and coaches who are overcoming difficulties and surpassing limits to achieve the highest accomplishments."
In a Facebook message that day, President Yoon said, "Last night, joyful news came from Paris," adding, "The South Korean delegation competing in the Paralympics continues to win valuable medals."
President Yoon wrote, "Lee Yoon-ri, a female shooter, won the first medal of this competition, and Jo Jeong-du, a male shooter, claimed the first gold medal," and noted, "The bronze medal won by shooter Seo Hoon-tae, who was injured and disabled during his service in the Special Forces, is itself an inspiring comeback story."
He continued, "With the silver medals of table tennis players Seo Soo-yeon and Yoon Ji-yoo, and the bronze medals of Cha Soo-yong and Park Jin-cheol, I am truly proud of you all," adding, "I will cheer with the nation until the very end. Team Korea, fighting!"
