Dongmyung University Sends First 'Do-ing Overseas Semester' Exchange Student to Columbia College, USA

Earn 6 Credits in English and 4 Credits in American Cultural Experience Locally

The first exchange students of Tongmyong University's 'Do-ing Overseas Semester Program' departed for Columbia College in Washington, USA, on the 29th.


The 'Do-ing Overseas Semester Program' is a 12-credit course established at the Do-ing College, a college within Tongmyong University, and consists of 10 weeks of overseas education and 5 weeks of domestic education.


This overseas semester program was introduced to embody the core values of challenge, practice, and experience that define Do-ing education through international exposure.


On this day, eight students including Hwang Seungjun from Do-ing College departed and plan to study at Columbia College for 10 weeks during the second semester, gaining diverse experiences and continuing to take on new challenges.


They will complete courses such as English (6 credits) and American culture experience (4 credits) while abroad.


After returning to Korea, they will be evaluated on their activities in the United States during the remaining semester and use this experience to identify their own challenge topics. The university provided airfare and tuition for students participating in the program.


Tongmyong University plans to further promote the spread of Do-ing values through the 'Do-ing Overseas Semester Program' at partner universities in the United States, China, Vietnam, and Indonesia with which it has signed exchange student agreements.
