In Australia, a shocking incident occurred where a 9-month-old baby was subjected to a 'random attack' by a complete stranger, resulting in burns covering 60% of the baby's body.

According to local Australian media 7News and other foreign outlets on the 28th (local time), on the 27th, a 9-month-old baby was having a picnic with the baby's mother and the mother's friends at a park in Brisbane, Australia. Suddenly, a man approached and poured hot coffee on the baby before fleeing.

The shocked mother and her group poured water on the baby and tried to remove the baby's clothes, but the skin began to peel and blisters appeared. Zara Maja, a nurse among the group, placed the baby in a bathtub filled with cold water and monitored the baby's condition until paramedics arrived. The baby was immediately taken to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery. Medical staff stated, "The baby suffered burns on 60% of the body, including the face, neck, chest, and arms." They added, "Fortunately, the burns are not life-threatening, so although long-term treatment is necessary, recovery is expected." In an interview with local media, the mother expressed her anguish, saying, "I am the guardian, but I couldn't protect my child," and described the experience as "terrible and painful."

The Brisbane police released CCTV footage showing the man fleeing the scene the day after the incident and launched a public manhunt. The man is reported to have no prior acquaintance with the baby's family. The footage released by the police shows a man believed to be the suspect running away in the park. The suspect appears to be between 30 and 40 years old, of average build, with darkly tanned skin, wearing a black hat and glasses, and dressed in a shirt and shorts. Detective Dalton, who is handling the case, stated, "In my 35 years as a police officer, this is the first time I have seen a young child attacked in such a situation," adding, "This kind of behavior is unacceptable. At this stage, we will deploy all available resources to focus on finding the suspect."
