Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 30th that it will focus its administrative capabilities on establishing a comprehensive plan for the Chuseok holiday to ensure a safe and comfortable holiday period.

The district has prepared 29 measures centered on four key areas closely related to residents' lives?▲resident safety ▲public welfare care ▲traffic flow ▲resolution of daily inconveniences?and the establishment of public service discipline, to be implemented during the Chuseok holiday from the 13th to the 19th of next month.

In particular, this year, the public health center will operate an emergency medical treatment situation room. One doctor and one nurse will work on the Saturday immediately before the holiday, the first day of the holiday, and the holiday itself (September 14, 16, and 17) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will be stationed in the health center’s clinic to provide primary medical care and handle emergency patient transport. The district also plans to maintain a 24-hour emergency medical system in cooperation with Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital within the area.

In addition to the emergency medical treatment situation room, a total of 222 staff members will be deployed across six functional situation rooms, including the comprehensive situation room, flood and wind damage, and cleaning, to resolve residents’ inconveniences and respond to emergencies.

Before the full start of the holiday, safety inspections will be completed for ▲multi-use facilities (movie theaters, performance halls, traditional markets, etc.) ▲disaster-risk and vulnerable facilities (steep slopes, old houses, road facilities, large construction sites, slopes, retaining walls, etc.) ▲parks (green spaces, hiking trails, playgrounds, etc.) ▲and cultural heritage (national heritage, local traditional heritage). The safety management systems for each facility will be checked, and on-site inspections will be conducted to identify any abnormalities.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, which shows signs of resurgence, disinfection will be strengthened at senior welfare facilities and local village buses to minimize transmission among returning visitors. Efforts will also be made to ensure food safety during the holiday. Food hygiene inspections will be conducted at livestock product handling businesses to check for any violations.

As a traffic measure, 26 public parking lots in the area will be open free of charge from the 14th to the 18th of next month. This includes 17 public parking lots in areas such as Ichon 1-dong and Hannam-dong, and 9 school parking lots including Boseong Girls’ Middle and High School and Yongsan Railroad High School. Detailed information on each parking lot’s opening is available on the Yongsan-gu Office website.

Regarding cleaning measures, garbage disposal will only be allowed after 6 p.m. on the 15th and 18th during the Chuseok holiday period.

As part of price stabilization efforts, direct delivery sales of local specialty products such as fruits from sister cities and counties will continue until the 9th of next month. Detailed information on items and prices is posted on the district’s website. To stabilize prices of daily necessities, the district will monitor price trends of major seasonal products before and after the holiday and enforce price labeling regulations.

District Mayor Park Hee-young stated, “On the occasion of Chuseok, the nation’s biggest holiday, we will support holiday consolation funds and goods to low-income groups, residents of small rooms, national veterans, child protection facilities, and welfare centers, and check on vulnerable groups such as elderly living alone to ensure no neighbors are left out. We will do our best to implement the comprehensive plan so that everyone can have a warm Chuseok holiday.”
