This budget increase aims to stimulate the local economy and enhance citizen convenience through future-oriented urban development and innovative infrastructure construction.

In particular, Gumi City has allocated an additional 3.6 billion KRW for seven projects, including a feasibility study for a connecting bridge between Gumi National Industrial Complexes 1 to 3, the construction of a grade-separated intersection at Sagok Five-way Intersection, and the development of a connecting road between Gupyung and the 3rd Complex, to disperse traffic volume and alleviate congestion.

Additionally, in preparation for the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships, the city has secured an extra 2.8 billion KRW for road resurfacing, 3.2 billion KRW for pedestrian safety projects, and 1.7 billion KRW for emergency repairs to address various civil complaints, totaling 7.7 billion KRW.

Funds have also been allocated to strengthen disaster prevention and safety management. The city secured an additional 1.4 billion KRW for river disaster recovery following heavy rainfall in July, and allocated 480 million KRW for the installation of electronic signboards, flashing lights, and emergency broadcasting systems to control access during flooding at Sangmo Underpass.

As a measure to address low birth rates, the city will implement a monthly rent support program for young newlywed couples to alleviate housing costs. This program provides up to 300,000 KRW per month for two years, depending on annual income, to newlywed couples with a combined annual income of 60 million KRW or less, living in rental homes with a deposit of 50 million KRW or less and monthly rent of 800,000 KRW or less. The total project budget is 1.08 billion KRW, supporting about 300 households, and all necessary funds have been secured in this supplementary budget.

An additional 14.4 billion KRW has been allocated for the Geoui 1 District urban development project, with construction scheduled for completion in October this year. Once the project is completed and 1,722 apartment units begin occupancy at the end of October, it is expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy.

Lastly, an additional 2.1 billion KRW (1.1 billion from the national government, 200 million from the province, and 800 million from the city) has been allocated for the construction of the 'Geumridan Sangsaeng Factory' to revitalize the Gaksan Village commercial district.
