Korea Airports Corporation will export safety equipment that assists aircraft landings to the presidential exclusive airport in Indonesia.
On the 30th, Korea Airports Corporation announced that it was selected as the final successful bidder on the 22nd for the air navigation safety facilities project at the Nusantara VVIP Airport, the planned new administrative capital of Indonesia.
The Nusantara VVIP Airport, currently under construction, will serve as the presidential exclusive airport for high-ranking officials and foreign heads of state. Korea Airports Corporation will supply and install Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) for safe aircraft landings and Distance Measuring Equipment (DMC) that provides aircraft distance information. The project scale is 1 billion KRW.
The corporation is the only airport operator in the world that develops its own air navigation equipment. To secure this project, it conducted on-site surveys and local technical analyses over the past seven months. Based on negotiations with the client, local agents, and the technical capabilities and maintenance convenience of KAC’s air navigation equipment, it was recognized for superior quality compared to competitors and was selected as the final contractor.
Lee Jeong-gi, Acting President of Korea Airports Corporation, said, "Starting with this entry into the Nusantara VVIP Airport, we will open a new horizon in Indonesia’s air navigation equipment market and enhance the reputation of Korea’s aviation technology and our corporation’s air navigation equipment."
