KOSPI Rises on Institutional Net Buying... Semiconductor Stocks ↑

The KOSPI is also rising due to net buying by institutional investors. In particular, semiconductor-related stocks such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are showing an upward trend despite the Nvidia shock.

As of 9:57 a.m. on the 30th, the KOSPI recorded 2,677.63, up 15.35 points (0.58%) compared to the previous trading day.

By investor type, individuals and foreigners net sold 35.9 billion KRW and 3.5 billion KRW, respectively. On the other hand, institutions net bought 38.6 billion KRW.

By sector, transportation equipment, insurance, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverages are up more than 1%. Additionally, electrical and electronics, manufacturing, and machinery are also showing slight gains. Conversely, electricity and gas fell 1.81%, and steel & metals and telecommunications also declined slightly.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, despite Nvidia's sharp drop, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix rose 1.22% and 2.30%, respectively. Kia and NAVER are up more than 2%, while Celltrion and Samsung C&T Corporation rose more than 1%. Conversely, LG Energy Solution, POSCO Holdings, and Samsung SDI fell more than 1%.

The KOSDAQ recorded 763.24, up 7.20 points (0.95%) compared to the previous trading day.

By investor type, foreigners net bought 36 billion KRW. Meanwhile, individuals and institutions net sold 10.6 billion KRW and 18.4 billion KRW, respectively.

By sector, pharmaceuticals rose 3.05%, and distribution, machinery equipment, manufacturing, and metals also rose more than 1%.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Alteogen traded at 317,000 KRW, up 1,500 KRW (0.48%) compared to the previous trading day. HLB jumped 6.93%, and Samchundang Pharmaceutical and Hugel rose more than 3%. Additionally, Enchem, HPSP, and Silicon투 also rose more than 2%. Conversely, Rainbow Robotics fell 1.22%.
