Yongin City to Increase 'Yongin Y-Pay' Recharge Incentive from 7% to 10% Next Month

You Can Use 330,000 Won Worth When Charging 300,000 Won

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it will increase the recharge incentive for the local currency 'Yongin Y- Pay' from 7% to 10% throughout September in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.

The city explained that this is to help small business sales and revitalize the stagnant local economy for the stability of the people's livelihood economy.

The monthly recharge limit eligible for the incentive is 300,000 KRW per person. If you recharge 300,000 KRW, you can use a total of 330,000 KRW.

Yongin Y-Pay can be used at about 26,000 affiliated stores such as restaurants, hospitals, and academies with annual sales of 1.2 billion KRW or less. Stores with sales of up to 3 billion KRW are allowed as affiliates in hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, postpartum care centers, and traditional markets.

Yongin Y-Pay is a rechargeable prepaid card. In particular, Samsung Pay users can register on the app and make mobile easy payments without a physical card. Affiliates can be checked through the Gyeonggi Local Currency app or the Yongin City website.

A city official said, "We hope citizens will take great interest in using local currency, which benefits both consumers and small business owners."
