Up to 55% Discount Compared to Market Price

Jung-gu, Direct Trade 'Jung-gu Market' for Chuseok on October 4-5

Jung-gu District in Seoul will operate a direct transaction market in front of the Jung-gu Office Square on October 4th and 5th to celebrate Chuseok. The Jung-gu Market was established to supply high-quality agricultural and specialty products from across the country directly to residents at affordable prices and to help farmers secure sales channels.

A total of 36 companies from 19 cities and counties, including Yeongdong in Chungbuk, Buan in Jeonbuk, Mungyeong in Gyeongbuk, and Hoengseong in Gangwon, are participating, expanding the market compared to last year. A variety of 221 agricultural and specialty products representing each region, such as sesame oil and perilla oil from Yeoju in Gyeonggi, apples and grapes from Yeongdong-gun in Chungbuk, mushrooms and salted seafood from Buan-gun in Jeonbuk, omija syrup from Mungyeong-si in Gyeongbuk, and Hanwoo beef from Hoengseong in Gangwon-do, will be available to residents.

Products can be purchased at prices discounted up to 55% compared to market prices, and card payments as well as Onnuri gift certificates are accepted. At 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., special sales will be held for Hoengseong Hanwoo beef, Wonju cheonggukjang, Muju pickled radish, and Goseong ginger syrup.

Participating companies in this market plan to donate a portion of their sales revenue to the Community Chest of Korea. Additionally, Jung-gu will provide company information through the AI Naepyeon Jung-gu platform so that residents can continuously purchase excellent products.

A district official said, “With food prices rising significantly, preparing for the Chuseok table has become a burden. We hope that the direct transaction Jung-gu Market, where residents can find various regional agricultural and specialty products, will be an opportunity for residents to prepare for the holiday economically while also supporting local farmers.”
