An American man has been recognized for his 181st Guinness World Record, becoming the person with the most Guinness World Records simultaneously held.

According to the Washington Post (WP) on the 28th (local time), David Rush (39), who lives in Boise, Idaho, was recognized earlier this month by Guinness World Records for his 181st record in "record-breaking."

According to reports, Rush broke 55 records within 30 seconds on January 1st, setting a new world record in this category, and then submitted evidence to Guinness World Records to have it officially registered. Earlier this month, Guinness World Records recognized this as his 181st record in "record-breaking."

Before Rush, Silvio Sava from Italy was known to hold the most Guinness World Record titles with 180 new records. However, Rush set his 181st new record, rewriting the record for the most registered titles. Although Guinness World Records does not have official data on the person with the most records held, Kylie Galloway, a Guinness spokesperson, confirmed in an email statement to WP that Rush is one of the all-time record breakers with the most records.

Rush first entered the Guinness World Records in 2015 by successfully juggling blindfolded for 6 minutes and 34 seconds. He has set various records such as fitting 59 marshmallows in his mouth in one minute and balancing 101 rolls of toilet paper on his head. Earlier this year, he set his 180th Guinness World Record by popping the most balloons with chopsticks in one minute.

After setting his 181st Guinness World Record, Rush explained his efforts through his YouTube channel. He said, “I feel a great sense of achievement every time I set a new record,” and stated that he will put in even greater effort to maintain his record for the most simultaneous records held.

Rush graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2007 and currently works as a motivational speaker. Since setting his first record in 2015, he has posted all his Guinness World Record attempts on his website and social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. He has about 95,000 followers.
