Implementation in 7 Areas Including Price Stability and Emergency Medical Care
Focusing on Vulnerable Groups Such as Elderly and Food-Insecure Children
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju (District Mayor Park Byeong-gyu) announced on the 29th that it will implement a comprehensive plan to ensure citizens can spend the Chuseok holiday safely and comfortably.
From today until September 18, the end of the Chuseok holiday, Gwangsan-gu will carry out 26 tasks across 7 areas for 3 weeks: ▲support for marginalized neighbors ▲price stabilization and economic crisis response ▲various disaster and safety management ▲creation of a pleasant urban environment ▲safety and traffic for returning visitors ▲emergency medical care and prevention of infectious diseases and food poisoning ▲strict establishment of public service discipline.
First, to prevent welfare blind spots during the holiday, consolation goods will be delivered and welfare checks conducted for 5,978 care neighbor households and social welfare facilities.
To prevent elderly people in vulnerable groups from missing meals, alternative meals will be provided to 655 seniors at 5 senior citizen centers during the holiday period. For children at risk of missing meals, support will be provided by charging the ‘Child Meal Card’.
A joint price inspection team will monitor price fluctuations of holiday seasonal products and conduct origin inspections. A field meeting for win-win communication with local businesses will be held to listen to difficulties and encourage workers, while operating a wage arrears reporting center.
A 24-hour comprehensive disaster safety situation room will be operated to prepare for various disasters such as guerrilla heavy rains, and safety inspections will be strengthened for 21 multi-use facilities and gas facilities.
To reduce inconvenience caused by medical service gaps during the holiday, an ‘Emergency Medical Response Situation Room’ will be established to check the emergency medical care system, and medical institutions and pharmacies operating during the holiday will be surveyed and actively promoted using Gwangsan-gu and Gwangsan-gu Health Center social media.
Household waste generated during the holiday will be collected daily except on Chuseok day and September 18, and illegal dumping of garbage will be monitored. Illegal advertisements such as illegal banners will also be intensively cleaned up.
