"We Grant Small Wishes"
The Goryeong-gun Community Social Security Council (Co-chairs: Lee Namcheol, Kim Jongtae) selected the recipients for August's "Wish Mailbox" through a subcommittee meeting and delivered gifts to them.
The "Wish Mailbox" project is a specialized initiative supported by the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea's "Together Happiness Fund." Each month, wishes are collected, and priority is given to low-income and multi-child families to help support children.
One of this month's recipients said, "I wanted a bicycle so I could ride together with my friends, and I'm really happy that my wish came true. I am grateful to those who gave me this gift."
Another recipient shared, "I used to study lying on the floor at home, but now that I received a desk as a gift, I am very happy. Thank you for allowing my younger sibling to sit next to me and read books too."
Kim Jongtae, the co-chair, stated, "Even though these are small gifts, seeing the children happy makes me feel good. I would also like to express my gratitude to those who regularly donate to 'Together Happiness Fund (formerly Hope Plus)' and make these wonderful projects possible."
Applications for the "Wish Mailbox" can be submitted through the collection box located in the Welfare Department at the county office, by mail, fax, or various other methods. For inquiries, please contact the Community Social Security Council or the Welfare Department.
