"Report Deepfakes When Found"…Nakao Reporting Channel Announcement

Kakao urged prompt reporting of deepfake pornography, which has emerged as a social issue, and announced the existing reporting channels.

On the 29th, Kakao explained through customer center notices, "If you find deepfake videos, images, or related content within Kakao services, please report them immediately."

It added, "If there is information that synthesizes or proposes/requests the synthesis of portraits and sexual images of specific individuals, including yourself, please report it," emphasizing, "Creating or distributing false videos is subject to legal regulation and can result in legal penalties related to defamation, invasion of privacy, and violations of the Personal Information Protection Act."

Naver also provided reporting channels for deepfake images or videos through customer center notices the day before.

Naver stated, "If you discover images or videos that violate laws such as the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes using deepfake technology or infringe on the rights of third parties, please submit a report through the channels below," and shared the relevant links.

It further noted, "Even simply posting or distributing others' content can be problematic if the content uses deepfake or generative AI (artificial intelligence), so special caution is required."

Additionally, Naver requested caution and reporting of deepfake distribution not only through the customer center but also via the post reporting center and the Green UGC official blog.
