Sequel to 'Gilwi-e Kim Dae-jung' Released in January
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of President Kim Dae-jung's birth, Myung Films announced on the 29th that they will produce a sequel to the film 'Kim Dae-jung on the Road,' which was released last January, titled 'President Kim Dae-jung.'
'President Kim Dae-jung' depicts the final challenge and the journey of regime change of Kim Dae-jung, who lived his life experimenting with the values of 'reconciliation, cooperation, change, and peace' and politics of integration, surviving five near-death experiences, serving four terms as a member of the National Assembly, and losing three presidential elections, earning the nickname 'expert in losing elections.' The film will be directed by Jung Sung-hoon, who directed the KBS documentary 'Road' for the 50th anniversary of liberation and MBC's special project 'Doctors Who Went to Pyongyang.'
The previous film, 'Kim Dae-jung on the Road,' attracted 130,000 viewers nationwide despite a limited number of screenings. The production company stated, "Audiences actively requested the production of a sequel," and added, "The production company and the 'Kim Dae-jung President Film Production Committee' plan to complete the production within this year."
