A woman rented out her studio apartment to a friend for several months, only for it to be turned into a garbage dump, and the story has been revealed.
On the 25th, a video titled "A Woman Who Rented Out Her Studio for 4 Months and Ended Up Spending 10 Million Won on Cleaning Fees" was posted on the YouTube channel "All About Jobs." In the video, YouTuber Hwang Haesu visited a studio apartment with Choi Wanseong, the CEO of a special cleaning company. The studio was previously occupied by the woman, and upon opening the door, all kinds of trash were piled up inside.
The house was filled with scattered clothes and leftover food waste. Due to poor hygiene, bugs were crawling all over the floor, ceiling, and various places. There were even rats and dried-up dead lizards. On one side, discarded adult products were found. Regarding this, CEO Choi explained, "I don't know if it was because of loneliness, but over 90% of hoarder houses have these kinds of items." Although it was a hot summer day, CEO Choi did not turn on the air conditioner because it was full of mold and could cause illness.
The condition of other parts of the house was no different. The window sills were covered with mayfly corpses, and the bathroom was covered with unidentified filth. Partially smoked cigarettes and used pregnancy tests were also found. Inside the refrigerator, there were several leftover foods of unknown age.
The tenant said, "I rented the house to a friend for 4 months, and it became a garbage dump," and requested cleaning from the company. The tenant's friend reportedly made a mess while living there and then ran away. The special cleaning cost for the studio totaled about 10 million won. CEO Choi said, "I visit scenes like this about 3 to 4 times a month," adding, "Most people who create these hoarder houses are women, and many are in poor mental health, such as suffering from depression."
Netizens responded with comments like, "It's creepy to think they act normal outside while leaving the house like this," "Even animals wouldn't live this dirty," and "I really respect the cleaning company workers."
