Reason for Aircraft Maintenance... "Compensation Preparation Underway"
T'way Air, the first low-cost carrier (LCC) to operate a route to Paris, France, encountered issues from the very first day. Customers experienced inconvenience as the return flight was delayed by about a day due to aircraft maintenance.
According to industry sources on the 29th, T'way Air's flight TWB402 from Paris to Incheon was delayed by approximately 20 hours. Originally scheduled to depart at 8:30 PM local time on the 28th, the departure was first postponed by about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 10:00 PM on the same day due to aircraft maintenance issues. However, as the maintenance took longer, the departure was further delayed until 6:26 PM the following day.
The aircraft used was an Airbus A330-200. Out of a total of 246 seats, the Paris-bound flight had a 98% occupancy rate, while 143 passengers had booked the Incheon-bound flight. A T'way Air representative stated, "The departure was delayed due to aircraft maintenance," adding, "Passengers were moved to hotels and compensation is being prepared."
