Jung Hae-chan (26), the eldest son of Jung Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group, is reported to have completed internships at a domestic accounting firm and a renowned financial company in New York, USA. On the 28th, Newsis reported that "Jung Hae-chan participated in the 'Summer Analyst Program' at Rockefeller Capital Management, an asset management firm located in New York, USA, from June to August this year."

At that time, Chairman Jeong's position was Vice Chairman. On the right is Chairman Jeong's eldest son, Hae-chan.

Rockefeller Capital Management is a financial company belonging to the Rockefeller family, known as the oil tycoons of the United States. It is a giant in the investment market that discovers and nurtures promising companies in the global market, currently led by Justin Rockefeller. The 'Summer Analyst Program' is known as a 10-week full-time, in-person internship program designed to provide an opportunity to experience the company's culture and atmosphere and to build networks.

Born in 1998, Jung Hae-chan is a '4th generation Shinsegae owner.' After majoring in Hotel Management at the prestigious Cornell University in the United States, he interned at Westin Chosun Hotel, a Shinsegae Group affiliate, in 2018. He then enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the army in 2021 and was discharged in May last year. After discharge, he completed a hands-on internship in the financial advisory division of Samjong KPMG, one of the Big Four accounting firms in Korea. Since August last year, he has been reportedly pursuing a master's degree in Business Administration related to the sports and fitness industry at Indiana University in the United States.

Last December, Chairman Jung attracted attention by attending a flute recital by his wife, Han Ji-hee, along with his eldest son Jung Hae-chan, third daughter Jung Hye-yoon, and youngest son Jung Hae-jun. After Han's performance ended, they took a commemorative photo together, and Vice Chairman Jung personally promoted his wife's recital by posting the concert poster on social media.

Attention is also drawn to the overseas internship activities of children of prominent business figures. Earlier in June, it was reported that Lee Won-joo (20), daughter of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, completed about six months of internship at the Simmons Center, a U.S. non-governmental organization (NGO). The internship tasks included social media management, grant research, record organization, and campaign preparation. Lee introduced herself as "I am from Seoul, South Korea, but was born in New York, USA," and "I am a sophomore majoring in Data Science at the University of Chicago."
