Among the members of the 22nd National Assembly who newly registered their assets, Go Dong-jin of the People Power Party was found to have the highest assets. Go, a former CEO of Samsung Electronics, reported assets worth 33.31 billion KRW.


The National Assembly Public Officials Ethics Committee disclosed on the 29th the asset registration status of 147 newly registered members of the 22nd National Assembly. Members who were re-elected from the 21st to the 22nd National Assembly had already reported their assets collectively in March and are not subject to this report. Among the newly registered members, Go’s assets had the largest portion in deposits. He reported deposits of 10.889 billion KRW held by himself and his family, of which his personal deposits amounted to 8.333 billion KRW. His spouse held 2.517 billion KRW, and his second son held 39 million KRW.

He owns real estate in Hannam The Hill, Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, valued at 7.24 billion KRW. He reported holding a large number of Samsung Electronics stocks. He personally owns 48,500 shares, while his spouse and second son each hold 11,794 shares. The total value of stocks held by him and his family amounts to 5.476 billion KRW. Additionally, he attracted attention by reporting a 2021 Ferrari jointly owned with his spouse, valued at 256 million KRW.


Following Go, the members ranked 2nd to 5th in asset value were all from the People Power Party. Seo Myeong-ok, a doctor, reported 27.079 billion KRW; Kim Eun-hye, a former journalist and KT executive, reported 26.884 billion KRW; Han Ji-a, also a doctor, reported 11.071 billion KRW; and Choi Eun-seok, former CEO of CJ CheilJedang, reported 11.016 billion KRW, ranking 2nd to 5th respectively.


Next, Yang Bu-nam, a former chief prosecutor and member of the Democratic Party, reported assets of 8.433 billion KRW, and Oh Se-hee, former president of the Small Business Association and also a Democratic Party member, reported 8.417 billion KRW.


Meanwhile, some members reported negative net assets. Lee Byung-jin of the Democratic Party reported assets of -834 million KRW. Although he owns large real estate and deposits worth 500 million KRW, his debts exceed his assets. Following him, Democratic Party members Jeong Jun-ho (-588 million KRW), Cha Ji-ho (-38 million KRW), and Mo Kyung-jong (-10 million KRW) also reported negative net assets. Han Chang-min of the Social Democratic Party reported -158 million KRW in assets.
