Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon stated regarding the opposition to the construction of a daycare center, a donation facility in the Rapid Integrated Planning reconstruction project site, "If we cannot build the daycare center, we cannot proceed with the Rapid Integrated Planning either."

On the 28th, Mayor Oh wrote on his Facebook, "Recently, there has been a concerning movement opposing the construction of a daycare center for elderly care as a public contribution in a reconstruction complex in Yeouido," and criticized, "While trying to accelerate reconstruction through Rapid Integrated Planning, the selfish behavior of ignoring the essential obligation to maintain public interest is never desirable."

Mayor Oh issued a warning message as residents of Yeouido Sibeom Apartment, which is promoting reconstruction up to 65 floors on the condition of donating the daycare center, opposed the installation of the daycare center. Nearby Yeouido Daegyo Apartment is also promoting reconstruction through the advisory method of Rapid Integrated Planning, and on the 23rd, established a maintenance plan on the condition of contributing an elderly welfare facility (daycare center) as a public contribution.

Mayor Oh stated, "In Korean society entering a super-aged society, daycare centers are essential facilities for elderly people, including those with early dementia," and added, "It is a very important responsibility to create a city where all generations can live together and to ensure that our elderly live in a better environment."

Mayor Oh also warned against the spread of false information about the daycare center. He explained, "Some residents are spreading false information that 'the daycare center can only be used by low-income groups,'" and said, "The daycare center is a space where elderly applicants and the younger generation responsible for care can benefit regardless of income. Actions that distort these facts and incite opposition among citizens must be stopped."

Regarding the purpose of introducing Rapid Integrated Planning, Mayor Oh explained, "The goal is to significantly accelerate apartment reconstruction and redevelopment while securing public interest through public contributions and creating a city where all citizens live together."

He emphasized, "If public interest is ignored, the general reconstruction method rather than Rapid Integrated Planning should be chosen," and added, "I hope everyone will participate in making Seoul a happy city through public contributions."
