Agreements Signed in Succession with Institutions such as Korea Employment Information Service and Korea Job World
Pukyong National University (President Jang Youngsoo) is expanding cooperation with related public institutions and local governments to support career paths and employment using artificial intelligence (AI).
On the 14th, Pukyong National University signed an agreement with the Korea Employment Information Service to cooperate in developing an AI-based career and aptitude-linked major recommendation system.
With the establishment of the new Division of Liberal Arts next year, Pukyong National University is developing a major matching and recommendation program linked to career and aptitude assessment tests for incoming freshmen without a declared major. Through this agreement, the university plans to apply the Worknet career and aptitude test from the Korea Employment Information Service to the program.
Once this program is developed, new freshmen without a declared major will be able to select their preferred major based on career and aptitude tests, career interest exploration, and related major information. They will also be able to explore various majors and participate in experiential programs based on their chosen interests.
Previously, Pukyong National University signed an agreement with Korea Job World, under the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and is currently operating Korea Job World's virtual reality-based internship program 'InternINMeta' for two months in July and August. Eighty students from Pukyong National University are participating, connecting online to virtual companies and experiencing real-life workplace tasks in fields such as business planning and administration, advertising/marketing, overseas sales, and application software development.
Additionally, to strengthen career competencies based on AI technology, the university operated a job bootcamp and an offline generative AI special lecture course throughout July. This program was conducted as part of Google's social contribution project through an agreement with the non-profit organization Root Impact.
Starting in September, the university will also launch a joint education program in collaboration with Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency, linked to Busan's '2024 Busan Youth JOB Growth Project.' Three interdisciplinary majors at Pukyong National University?Digital New Technology Startup Convergence, Blue Food Tech Convergence, and Creative Convergence?will participate, jointly offering special lectures by field experts, company visits, and practical training programs. Students who complete the program will receive support for employment connections and company matching.
Pukyong National University operates as a university job center and as an institution providing tailored employment services for students under the Ministry of Employment and Labor. By offering specialized one-stop youth employment services to both students and local youth, the university is solidifying its position as a leading career and employment support institution in the Busan region.
