Investment Promotion for Geochang Elevator Valley Targeting Five K-Escalator Participating Companies
Geochang County in Gyeongsangnam-do held the "2024 Geochang County Investment Promotion Briefing" on the 27th at Hyundai Elevator, part of the Hyundai Group in Seoul, targeting five participating companies of "K-Escalator," a domestic escalator manufacturing company that signed an investment agreement with the county in March.
The investment briefing was attended by Vice Governor Lee Byungcheol, Kim Taeil, CEO of Hyundai Elevator Service, Lee Junseop, CEO of K-Escalator, and representatives of the five participating companies, totaling 14 people. The session introduced Geochang County's business investment conditions, investment incentives, and the strengths of the elevator cluster and workforce development, among other factors related to the business investment environment.
Vice Governor Lee stated, "Since 2008, Geochang County has designated the elevator industry as its core industry, and after 16 years of effort, we have established the optimal industry cluster for elevators, integrating industry, academia, research, and government. If you invest in the Geochang Elevator Valley, Gyeongsangnam-do Province and Geochang County will provide the utmost administrative and financial support."
Meanwhile, the county was designated as an Elevator Valley Industry Special Zone in 2019. It is developing into a true elevator city, hosting the Korea Elevator Safety Agency's Elevator Safety Technology Institute?the only elevator safety certification body in Korea?Korea Elevator University, and 33 specialized elevator companies within its industrial cluster.
