'The Future of AI and Humanity' Theme
To Be Held at Amorepacific Headquarters on the 20th of Next Month
Includes Lecture by 'Neuroscientist' CEO Jang Dong-seon
On the 28th, the Amorepacific Foundation announced that it will hold the 'Jangwon Special Lecture' on the 20th of next month to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Jangwon (粧源) Seo Seong-hwan, the founder of Amorepacific and the foundation.
The foundation explained that this special lecture was planned to continue the late Chairman Seo's will, who emphasized the importance of spreading academic knowledge in various fields and nurturing talent. Chairman Seo established the Amorepacific Foundation in 1973 to encourage and expand research in the humanities.
This special lecture is themed 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Future of Humanity' and is composed of content about AI, which will lead future new industries. The lecture will be held in two parts. It includes a lecture by Professor Kim Dae-sik of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) titled 'From Gen-AI to AGI and ASI?' and a talk by Jang Dong-seon, CEO of the Curious Brain Research Institute, titled 'The Future of the AI Era from the Perspective of a Neuroscientist.'
The foundation expects that through this special lecture, attendees will be able to cultivate creative thinking necessary for the future AI society while grasping the latest AI technology trends.
The lecture will take place at Amore Hall on the 2nd floor of the Amorepacific headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It is open to the general public and members of the Amorepacific Group. The application period is until the 6th of next month. Participation is free, and all attendees will receive a small souvenir prepared by the Amorepacific Foundation. Meanwhile, the Amorepacific Foundation has conducted various humanities research support projects such as 'Beauty of Asia,' 'Women and Culture,' and 'Jangwon (粧源) Humanists.' Until the 1st of next month, it is accepting applications for a new research support project in the field of 'Culture and Arts.'
