On the 27th (local time), Oasis revealed the news of their European tour next year through their official website.
Oasis's tour will kick off at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on July 4-5 next year, followed by Manchester's Heaton Park on the 11-12th and 19-20th, London's Wembley Stadium on the 25-26th and August 2-3, Edinburgh's Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on the 8-9th, and will conclude at Dublin's Croke Park on the 16-17th. Ticket sales will open on the 31st.
In a joint statement, they said, "The gunfire has quieted. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see us. The performance will not be broadcast."
Celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, Oasis's performance marks their first in 16 years since their last show at the UK's music festival 'V Festival' in 2009 before disbandment.
The reunion of Oasis has always been a major topic over the past 15 years but never materialized. Recently, the Gallagher brothers each posted a short video on their social media hinting at "8 am on August 27, 2024" (27.08.24 8 am), fueling speculation that the reunion is imminent.
AP News reported that Oasis had already been preparing a new collection to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their debut album prior to this announcement.
Formed in 1991, Oasis debuted in 1994 with their first studio album Definitely Maybe and gained worldwide popularity with numerous hits such as "Wonderwall," "Don't Look Back in Anger," and "Live Forever." All seven of their studio albums reached number one on the UK charts, and their total album sales have reached 90 million copies.
However, on August 28, 2009, Noel suddenly left the band just before a concert in Paris, and Liam later announced the band's disbandment, bringing the band to an end.
The recent reunion rumors gained credibility when Liam performed Oasis's "Half the World Away," a song he is known to dislike, at the Reading Festival on the 25th and dedicated it to his brother Noel. The UK music media outlet NME also supported the reunion rumors, citing Noel's recent interviews where he spoke about Liam in a softer tone than before.
Meanwhile, Oasis has hinted at touring other continents later next year after their European tour, raising expectations for a concert in Korea as well.
