Whistleblower "So upset I recorded and informed security"
Disorderly acts like public urination and jaywalking by Chinese tourists escalate

A woman presumed to be Chinese was caught smoking indoors at Jeju International Airport. On the 26th, JTBC's 'Sageonbanjang' reported a tip about indoor smoking near the domestic boarding gate at Jeju International Airport on the 16th. The video shared by tipster A shows a woman briefly putting an electronic cigarette in her mouth and exhaling a hazy smoke. A claimed, "The smokers were speaking in Chinese," and "They appeared to be Chinese."

What was even more absurd was the airport's response. A informed a nearby security guard about the incident, but he said, "It's not my responsibility," and gave another contact number. A immediately reported to the provided contact, but security guards only arrived about 20 minutes later and ultimately failed to catch the smokers. He expressed regret, saying, "I don't understand the two people openly smoking, but the airport's response was also too lax." Netizens who saw the video reacted with comments such as, "What are they doing in someone else's country?", "This is why people dislike Chinese," and "Airport management is too sloppy."

Earlier, at the end of last month, a Chinese passenger seemingly smoking indoors in a business class seat on a plane sparked controversy. On the 30th of last month, various social networking services (SNS) posted a video and message saying, "What happened on the plane. There really are people like this. I couldn't believe my eyes." In the video, a man is seen looking at his phone inside the plane, putting an object presumed to be an electronic cigarette to his mouth, then exhaling smoke.

Additionally, as the number of Chinese tourists visiting Jeju has increased this year, their disorderly behavior has been witnessed in various places. Recently, a photo of Chinese parents allowing their young child to defecate on a street in Jeju City was posted on an online community, spreading controversy. Furthermore, there have been many cases reported where people eat food such as cup noodles at convenience stores and leave the trash piled on the table, or jaywalk and when caught by police, give absurd excuses like "It's unfair," and "They don't get caught in China."
