Geumcheon-gu Women's Choir 23rd Regular Concert 'Again, Harmony' Held

Revitalizing choral art through 'Dasi, Harmony'

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that the Geumcheon-gu Women’s Choir will hold its 23rd regular concert, “Again, Harmony,” on August 29 at 7:30 PM at the Geumnarae Art Hall performance venue.

Founded in 1995, the Geumcheon-gu Women’s Choir has elevated the district’s prestige by winning various national competitions, including the grand prize at the 1st Gwangju Bitgoeul National Choir Competition and the bronze prize at the Geoje National Choir Competition.

Under the subtitle “Again, Harmony,” this regular concert will present an emotional stage where multiple sounds come together to form harmony, and various harmonies unite again to create a single performance.

In particular, this concert will be enriched by performances from the Raonhaje Orchestra, the International Youth Choir, the Felice Voices Ensemble, and gayageum player Shin Su-rin.

The Raonhaje Orchestra will perform live arrangements of songs from various genres such as art songs, folk songs, musicals, and movie soundtracks (OST), offering enjoyment and emotion to audiences of all ages.

The program will include art songs like “That Summer Night” and “New Path,” folk songs such as “Arirang” and “Flower Song,” musical insert songs, and many other diverse pieces.

The concert is open to anyone interested in music, and admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue on the day of the event.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “This concert is especially meaningful as it is the regular performance of our district’s Women’s Choir, which has greatly contributed to the growth of our district as a cultural and artistic center through choral arts. I hope they continue to raise our district’s pride through active performances, and I wish good health and happiness to all the executives and members who work hard for this.”

The Geumcheon-gu Women’s Choir is also actively engaged in community activities, such as donating prize money from choir competitions to the Geumcheon Future Scholarship Foundation, which was established to nurture future talents for the district.
