The 'Visiting Care Medical Center' project involves a team of doctors, nurses, and social workers visiting the homes of mobility-impaired residents in medically underserved areas to provide integrated medical services. The city was selected for the Gyeonggi Province public project in May and started the project on the 1st of last month, providing services to 87 people so far.
The project involves Hwaseong City Dongtan Public Health Center and Dongtan City Hospital. When patients, caregivers, or other medical institutions apply for the service, the care medical team visits the residence to establish an integrated support plan, provide medical services, and connect the recipients with necessary welfare programs.
About 50 people attended the plaque ceremony, including Jeong Myeong-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong, Bae Jeong-su, Chairperson of Hwaseong City Council, Park Jin-young, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member, and Shin Jae-heung, Director of Dongtan City Hospital. Director Shin said, "I will take responsibility for establishing Hwaseong City's care medical system and strive to improve medical accessibility for vulnerable groups."
Mayor Jeong said, "In preparation for the super-aged society, we will cooperate with related organizations to build an integrated community care system and do our best to improve seamless elderly medical welfare."
