Gangdong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soo-hee) will hold a free vehicle inspection event on October 2nd in celebration of Chuseok.
The event will take place on September 2nd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the parking lot of the Amsa-dong Historic Site (875 Olympic-ro), targeting passenger cars with 12 seats or fewer. Vehicles to be inspected will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event, and upon arrival, owners should hand over their vehicles to the event staff.
The main inspection items include the overall condition of the vehicle such as the undercarriage, braking system, and tires. Various belts, oils, coolant, washer fluid, lighting devices, instrument panel, electrical devices, and exhaust emissions will also be checked.
This free inspection is organized by the Gangdong-gu branch of the Seoul Automobile Professional Maintenance Business Association, with 130 qualified maintenance technicians participating. Since 1989, the Gangdong-gu branch has been providing free vehicle inspection services in cooperation with Gangdong-gu and has been practicing sharing through various activities, including participating annually in warm winter support projects.
Kim Kyung-chun, head of the Gangdong-gu branch, stated, "Since long-distance driving is more frequent than usual, a vehicle safety inspection before departure is essential." Jung Young-hwan, head of the Gangdong-gu Transportation Administration Division, said, "We hope many residents use this free vehicle inspection to prevent safety accidents and have a joyful and safe holiday."
