27th Korea University Public Relations Association Launched... New President Kim Namsu Says "Exciting University Promotion"

The Korea University Public Relations Association (President Kim Namsu) held the inauguration ceremony for its 27th executive board on the 23rd at the Busan Tourist Hotel in Jung-gu, Busan.


The event was attended by the 27th executive board of the Korea University Public Relations Association, Kim Chiyong (Director of External Cooperation at Dong-Eui University), Lee Jaekyu (Executive Director of The Korea University News), Kim Okchan (Head of the Busan-Gyeongnam Branch of The Korea Economic Daily), and others. The ceremony proceeded in the following order: △Farewell address by the 26th president △Inaugural address by the 27th president △Congratulatory remarks △Awarding of plaques of appreciation △Introduction and appointment of the 27th executive members △Commemorative photo session.


Kim Namsu, the new president and Head of the External Cooperation Team at Dong-Eui University, stated, "Universities possess a genuine commitment to contributing to society, and for universities to develop, communication and cooperation are becoming more important than competition."


President Kim added, "In line with the founding purpose of the association?to promote research and development and information exchange in university public relations?I will strive to share information and facilitate communication so that university PR professionals can engage in innovative and exciting PR activities with artificial intelligence."


He also expressed his intention to enhance PR capabilities by sharing passion through the biannual seminars held each year.

27th Korea University Public Relations Association Launched... New President Kim Namsu Says "Exciting University Promotion" On the 25th, the inauguration ceremony of the 27th Korea University Public Relations Association was held.

Former president Park Saehwan (Kyung Hee University) encouraged the new executive board, saying, "To ensure the sustainability of universities, we must work to enhance the professionalism of the Korea University Public Relations Association, and I will do my best to support all members in growing together through various programs."


The Korea University Public Relations Association was established on July 11, 1997, with the aim of advancing university PR operations, enhancing university competitiveness, and strengthening information sharing and solidarity among PR officers. Currently, PR professionals from about 140 four-year universities are members, and the association consists of six regional councils: △Gyeonggi/Incheon/Gangwon △Daegu/Gyeongbuk △Daejeon/Chungcheong △Busan/Ulsan/Gyeongnam/Jeju △Seoul △Honam. The association conducts research and development in university PR, develops information and materials between universities, provides training for university PR experts, develops university PR policies, and organizes national spring and autumn seminars as well as regional summer and winter seminars.


Kim Namsu was elected as the 27th president at the 2024 regular general meeting of the Korea University Public Relations Association held at Sono Belle Jeju on May 29. His term will run for one year from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025.


Launched under the slogan "With Passion, Innovative and Exciting University PR," the 27th executive board consists of: △President Kim Namsu (Dong-Eui University) △Vice Presidents Choi Sunghui (Sookmyung Women's University), Kwon Soonjin (Sangji University), Lee Hyungyu (Paichai University), Cho Youngho (National Mokpo University), Kwon Osang (Yeungnam University), Kim Sungkeun (Tongmyong University) △Auditors Lee Gitae (Dankook University), Lim Donghyun (Kukdong University) △General Affairs Director Jang Hyunjong (Pusan National University) △Directors Lee Soyoung (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies), Lee Changhyeong (Sungkyunkwan University), Cho Youngmoon (Kookmin University), Lee Youngsook (Sungkyul University), Kim Mankil (Hansei University), Park Sewoong (Cheongju University), Hwang Euitek (Korea University of Technology and Education), Park Jiho (Songwon University), Lee Jiye (Kyungpook National University), and Kim Hakchan (UNIST), among others.
