Available at over 390 directly managed stores from the 27th
Premium hamburger brand Burger King announced on the 26th that it will provide support to customers affected by the TMON settlement delay incident. This is the first decision of its kind in the quick service restaurant industry.
As the use of mobile gift certificates sold through TMON was temporarily suspended due to the TMON settlement delay incident, Burger King has been continuously assessing the scale of the damage and devising consumer protection measures since the outbreak of the incident. Burger King plans to bear the full cost of damages related to the gift certificates independently of the related companies involved in the incident, aiming to minimize consumer harm.
Burger King will issue new gift certificates on the 27th to replace the Burger King mobile gift certificates purchased through TMON that were suspended from use. These gift certificates can be used at approximately 390 Burger King directly operated stores nationwide, excluding franchise stores, and the usage period is uniformly extended until November 30 regardless of the original expiration date. Due to menu discontinuations and other changes, the replacement gift certificates will be issued in one of four types according to the amount, and refunds for the gift certificates are not allowed.
Lee Dong-hyung, CEO of Burger King, said, “We have agreed to quickly minimize the damage and anxiety experienced by consumers due to the prolonged incident, which led to this support decision. Going forward, Burger King will continue to take the lead in fulfilling its social responsibility to uphold customer trust and provide the best experience, which are our most important values.”
