CJ CheilJedang's K-Street Food Bibigo Tteokbokki is accelerating its global expansion.


CJ CheilJedang announced on the 26th that sales of Bibigo ambient tteokbokki in the second quarter of this year increased 2.5 times compared to the previous quarter. The number of export countries, which was 29 at the beginning of this year, has now increased to a total of 41 countries including the United States, Vietnam, Europe, Australia, and South America, contributing significantly to the expansion of the global market.

Bibigo ambient tteokbokki (Original, Spicy, Cheese) is a product that CJ CheilJedang launched in June last year as the first K-Street Food item. It offers the taste of Korea’s representative street food with bite-sized chewy rice cakes and a sweet and spicy sauce, conveniently packaged in cup and pouch forms.


In particular, as the popularity of K-Street Food has surged recently in Europe, the response to Bibigo ambient tteokbokki has been very enthusiastic.


On the 23rd, the popular tvN variety show ‘Seojin’s Place 2’ episode 9 featured cast members who opened a Korean restaurant in Iceland, Northern Europe, enjoying Bibigo cup tteokbokki during their break, drawing attention. Bibigo ambient tteokbokki is sold throughout Europe, including Iceland, where ‘Seojin’s Place 2’ was filmed.


CJ CheilJedang plans to further accelerate this growth by expanding the sales channels of Bibigo ambient tteokbokki, which currently focuses on ethnic markets and online malls, to mainstream distribution channels in major global countries.


Meanwhile, until September 10, six types of Bibigo ambient tteokbokki (3 cup types, 3 pouch types) are being sold at a discount on ‘CJ The Market,’ CJ CheilJedang’s official online mall.


A CJ CheilJedang official said, "We expect this ‘Seojin’s Place 2’ linked marketing to be a great opportunity for consumers worldwide to experience Bibigo products," adding, "We plan to continue introducing new products so that more global consumers can experience Bibigo products."
