On the 25th, Suga posted a handwritten apology on BTS's official fan community Weverse, saying, "I want to apologize to you again with a shameful heart."

Suga wrote, "I deeply apologize for causing disappointment and hurt to the fans and everyone who loves me due to my wrong actions," adding, "I forgot the responsibility to repay the love I have received with appropriate behavior and committed a serious mistake."

He also acknowledged the confusion caused by his first apology posted on the 7th, a day after the drunk driving incident, stating, "I should have thought more deeply and been more cautious, but I failed to do so," correcting the mistakes made in his initial apology.

On the evening of the 6th, around 11:19 PM, Suga was found by police near his home in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, lying down after falling while driving an electric scooter in a heavily intoxicated state and was booked.

Under current law, if caught drunk driving an electric scooter with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.2% or higher, one can face imprisonment from 2 to 5 years or a fine ranging from 10 million to 20 million KRW.

When the incident first became public, Suga referred to the electric scooter as a "kickboard" in his statement. While electric kickboards are excluded from penalties for drunk driving, electric scooters are subject to separate criminal penalties such as imprisonment or fines.

He continued, "It is all my fault. My recklessness is causing hardship to everyone who cares about me," and said, "I will strive not to repeat such wrong behavior and live with remorse."

He confessed his feelings, saying, "Because of this incident, I have deeply tarnished the precious memories made with the members and fans and brought shame to the name of BTS," adding, "I feel indescribably sorry and distressed for causing harm to the members and the team."

To the fans, he expressed, "I know that no words can easily heal the wounds and disappointment you have received, so I deeply regret it and reflect every day with a heavy heart."

Suga appeared at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the 23rd, 17 days after the incident, for a formal investigation and returned home after about three hours.

Suga, who has been serving as a social service agent since September last year, is scheduled to be discharged in June 2025.
